Pray For Beirut Pakistan Stands With Lebanon
The global COVID-19 is of a scale most people alive today have never seen before. Worldwide, the outbreak is affecting billions of lives and livelihoods as health systems buckle, borders close and families struggle to meet their needs.
Communities all around the world are up to the challenge – from health workers risking their lives to fight against the pandemic to young people deploying innovative ways to share public health message. Yet, even the spread of COVID-19 is slow in some countries, its social toll will come fast. And in many places, it will come at the expense of most vulnerable children.
With prompt action, health risks are turning into a child-rights crisis. Disruptions to society have a huge impact on children: their safety, well-being, and future. Adam Welfare calls for swift global action to:
Keep children healthy
International efforts help to enhance the health systems – by providing supplies and the necessary equipment to reach affected communities, and training health workers to diagnose, treat, and prevent COVID-19. However, the exploited health systems impend more than those who are affected by this pandemic.
Adam Welfare calls on government and partners to sustain life-saving maternal, newborn and child health services. It means continuing fulfilling the basic needs posed by COVID-19, while boosting the critical health interferences, like medical fundraising for vaccinations that ensure children thrive and survive.
Approach vulnerable children with hygiene, water, and sanitation
Protecting ourselves and others through proper handwashing and hygiene practices has never been important. But for many children, basic water and hygiene facilities remain out of reach. Some children are far away from pure water as they live in remote areas, or in places where water is populated. Other children have a lack of access to basic facilities because they’re living without a home, living in a street or slum.
Adam Welfare calls upon governments to help these children. And we’re appealing for fundraising and support to help children who’re living without water, hygiene facilities, and sanitation.
Support families to meet the basic needs and care for their children
The impact of COVID-19 will be felt hardest by the world’s most vulnerable children. Many already living in poverty, and the consequences of COVID-19 response measures risk plunging them further into hardship.
Millions of parents strive hard to raise their income and livelihood, governments must scale up social protection measures – programmers and policies that connect families to life-saving healthcare, nutrition, and education.
Adam Welfare calls upon governments to assist families with family fundraising. Without urgent action to alleviate the economic and social effects of COVID-19 outbreak and response, millions of children are living on the edge of hardship.
What is Adam Welfare doing?
Our prompt response to the COVID-19 pandemic must build a better future for every child. All around the world, Adam Welfare is working with governments, communities, and partners to reduce the outbreak of coronavirus and minimize the social impacts on children and their families.
