Pray For Beirut Pakistan Stands With Lebanon
Adam Welfare is committed to empowering potential individuals to reach their goal and lead booming lives. In this unexpected and difficult time, Adam Welfare remains dedicated to building broad communities where donors, volunteers, stakeholders, and partners work together to make the actual progress in addressing discrimination in education, health, and income.
Equity is our major concern that’s eliminating barriers and increasing opportunities for communities. Uncertainty, rapid change, and disruption has drastically impacted us out of comfort zone and caused several problems. Therefore, our major preference is to retreat into comfort, into not so distant past and into the way of being that many tenderly refer to as “normal”. What is becoming clearer every day is that due to our strive efforts to revert to how things were before the COVID-19 pandemic, we will never truly get there.
The bitter truth is “normal” under the current circumstances that existed before COVID-19 sweeping across the world was mournfully untenable, to begin with. Virtually every single indicator for health, education, and financial well-being presented conspicuous racial gaps. As communities for a color brace for the brunt of this on-going medical and financial crisis, these preexisting inequalities stand to be further exacerbated. However, early evidence is still emerging. So, we can say that now is the right time for all of us to stand together in our cause.
The fact is many of our communities were in crisis long before COVID-19. Sadly, we’re already seeing evidence these same communities are most influenced by on-going pandemic crisis. At Adam Welfare, our commitment is to remain steadfast in our push for equity in family fundraising, charity fundraising, emergency fundraising, and more as per cause. Our call to action for people is to do the same. It is as necessary as ever that internal change in operations and policies that build equitable and comfortable workspace.
Moreover, it will enable us to understand the factors that impede progress based upon identity to create more inclusive organizations, companies, communities, and nations. We as a nation must robustly pursue equity in the present so we can create a future that works for all of us.
